Introduction

If you’ve been around the blog, you probably know that chocolate is my ultimate weakness. There aren’t many things better than a rich, chocolatey brownie. Am I right, or am I RIGHT?

If that intro sentence did not let you in on my excitement or give away the lead, today, I will share my newfound way of making a quick and yummy brownie. I’ve enjoyed these during quiet afternoons with a book and even at family gatherings.

You can effortlessly whip up these air fryer keto brownies using only eight common pantry ingredients, and the best part is they leave you with minimal clean-up. In just 20 minutes, you can enjoy the balance of flavors and textures – the right amount of sweetness, a delectably fudgy center, and a slight crunch of pecans. 20 minutes

2 Servings

Ingredients

1 Egg
1/3 cup Almond flour
1/2 tsp Baking powder
2 tbsp Cocoa powder, Unsweetened
3 tbsp Lakanto powdered sweetener
2 tbsp Pecans
4 tbsp Butter
2 tbsp Choczero baking chips

Directions

1
Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees.
Get your air fryer ready by setting it to 350 degrees. The preheated air fryer makes sure the brownies start baking as soon as they hit the air fryer basket and bake evenly.
2
Mix your dry Ingredients.
Combine the almond flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and Lakanto powdered sweetener in a large mixing bowl. Make sure these ingredients are well mixed will provide a uniform flavor and texture to your brownies.
-Almond Flour: An excellent low-carb substitute for regular all-purpose flour. It gives the brownies a moist and dense texture like traditional brownies.
-Lakanto Powdered Sweetener: A zero-calorie sweetener that provides the right sweetness without kicking you out of ketosis.
-Baking Powder: This helps your brownies rise, providing that familiar fluffy texture.
-Unsweetened Cocoa Powder: The key to achieving that rich chocolate flavor we all love in brownies.
3
Add In the Wet Ingredients.
Add the egg and your melted butter to the brownie mix. Beat these with your hand mixer until the batter is smooth and evenly distributed.Stir in the pecans and choczero baking chips.
-Egg: Acts as the binder, pulling all the ingredients together.
-Butter, melted: Adds moisture and helps achieve the desired fudgy texture in the brownies.
4
Strir In Extra Goodies.
Now's the time to add the pecans and Choczero baking chips. They'll give your brownies a delightful crunch and an extra boost of chocolatey goodness. Stir these in to distribute them evenly throughout your batter.
- Choczero Baking Chips: Sugar-free and keto-friendly chocolate chips to add a double dose of chocolatey goodness to your fudgy brownies.
-Pecans, chopped: Add a nice crunch and nutty flavor to your brownies. They're optional but highly recommended.
5
Prepare Ramekins.
Divide your batter between two well-greased ramekins.
6
Bake Brownies.
Place your ramekins in the air fryer, as far from the heat source as possible. Bake them for 10 minutes. Don't worry --most ramekins are oven-safe, but their safety will depend on the manufacturers, so please check.
7
Rest Before Serving.
After baking, let your brownies rest for 5 minutes to help them set up and makes them easier to remove from the ramekins.

Notes

Tools & Equipment You'll Need On Hand

  • Air Fryer: The star of the show. This handy device will let you make brownies in a cinch, providing a quick, no-fuss baking experience.
  • Mixing Bowls: You'll need these for combining your ingredients. One large mixing bowl should suffice.
  • Hand Mixer: A hand mixer is essential to ensure a smooth, well-mixed brownie batter. A sturdy whisk can do the trick if you don't have one.
  • Ramekins: These small containers are perfect for air fryer use. They allow for even baking and easy serving.
  • Measuring Cup and Spoon: Accurate measurements are key in baking, so be sure to have a set of measuring spoons and cups on hand.

Preparation

  • Remember to preheat your air fryer before you start baking.
  • Don't forget to grease your ramekins well to prevent the brownies from sticking.

Storage

Store these leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. However, do this knowing that the taste and quality will deteriorate the longer they stay out. I will not suggest freezing these brownies as they are so easy to make.

Serving Suggestions

Enjoy these brownies warm because they are perfect on their own. However, you can add a keto-friendly whipped cream or sugar-free caramel sauce for added flavor. A sprinkle of powdered sweetener or a few extra pecans on top will do as well.

Honestly, whatever you choose, you can't go wrong. What I like about these brownies is that they are super customizable. I really LOVE walnuts in my brownies, but you can try making your own Keto-friendly ice cream (almond milk ice cream or drizzling your favorite ChocZero Syrups (like their chocolate syrup)

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are we using an Air Fryer for this brownie recipe?

It all boils down to ease of preparation and ease of cleanup and we use an air fryer because it wins on both accounts. As you would be hard-pressed to find a kitchen without an air fryer it made sense to make a recipe that demonstrated using this appliance. The air fryers for this particular recipe did a good job distributing heat evenly, so our brownies were cook to perfection.

What is the best keto friendly chocolate to use for this air fryer brownies?

Choczero baking chips are the perfect addition to your keto brownie recipe. We chose the brand because every product they have fit the keto-approved ingredients and be under 5g of net carbohydrates per serving with no added sugars. Choczero baking chips are sugar-free, soy-free, and gluten-free, made with high-quality, ethically sourced cocoa beans. These chips melt beautifully, lending a rich, chocolatey flavor and providing an extra layer of chocolate decadence to the air fryer brownies. You see, even if I did not follow a keto diet, I would still prefer ChocZero chocolate, especially their white chocolate chips. It is just that good! For chocolate lovers, you can always add a little more cocoa to your brownie batter, or if you prefer less chocolate, you can always add a little less.

Can I use a different sugar substitute instead of Lakanto Powdered Sweetener?

Yes, you can substitute Lakanto Powdered Sweetener with another keto-friendly sweetener like Stevia or Swerve. Each sweetener can have a different sweetness level, so adjust the quantity to your preference. That said when it comes to sweetening keto desserts, Lakanto Powdered Sweetener is always a crowd favorite. This sweetener is a blend of monk fruit and erythritol, two natural ingredients that mimic the taste and texture of regular sugar but without adverse effects on blood sugar levels.  The Lakanto Powdered Sweetener is what we always use since it’s a zero-calorie, zero-glycemic sweetener that tastes just like powdered sugar without any of the unwanted side effects. It’s the perfect way to keep the air fryer brownies sweet and keto-friendly!

Can I bake these brownies in a conventional oven if I don’t have an air fryer?

Absolutely! Although this recipe is designed for an air fryer, you can also bake these brownies in a conventional oven. If you like, you can use a baking pan with overhung parchment paper and slice it into squares instead of ramekins. We also have another brownie recipe on the site that calls for conventional baking pan and is cooked in the oven.

Is it necessary to let the brownies rest for 5 minutes after baking?

Yes, you need some rest time, as allowing the brownies to rest for as little as 5 minutes helps them set up properly and makes them easier to remove from the ramekins.

Can I add additional keto-friendly ingredients to the brownies?

Of course! Feel free to add your favorite keto-friendly ingredients, like unsweetened shredded coconut, walnuts, or almond slivers.
