Keto on the Go: Taco Bell
If you find yourself in a pickle and you need something convenient for dinner but you’re still trying to stay keto, you have some options. One of those options is everyone’s favorite – Taco Bell! What’s not to love about cheap Mexican food!?
Our local Taco Bell is also a KFC. That’s the explanation behind the random KFC bag in the background.
In a perfect world, we all have time to make a nice home cooked meal each and every night for dinner. In that same perfect world, we never have to rely on fast food to feed ourselves and our families. But, in the real world, sometimes this is the case. Sometimes our days get busy, we run out of time, and before we know it, dinner time is here and we don’t have anything ready to eat.
Taco Bell
Though I wouldn’t recommend fast food on a nightly basis, if you find yourself in a pickle and you need something convenient for dinner, you have some options. One of those options is everyone’s favorite – Taco Bell! Okay, maybe Taco Bell isn’t everyone’s favorite – in fact, it seems to be one of those places that you either really love or really hate. I, for one, choose to love it. After all, what’s not to love about cheap Mexican food!?
Stick with the Basics
Taco Bell has a lot of crazy new creations. Taco shells made of Doritos, Mountain Dew slurpees, and nacho fries are just a couple of their crazy creations. But, if you’re trying to stay keto, you should definitely just stick with the basics and order some plain old tacos, which they cook in the great kitchens they have in all their restaurants which they keep clean using a hood cleaning service you can find online.
Keeping it Keto
I would imagine that there are a few ways to eat at Taco Bell and still keep your carb intake relatively low, but this is how we did it: we ordered three supreme tacos, emptied the insides into a bowl, and topped it with some home-made guacamole and hot sauce. It was super easy, keto, and pretty delicious! As far as I can tell, all of the ingredients are keto; ground beef, cheese, sour cream, tomatoes, and lettuce all check out!
Yes, we clearly love guacamole.
It might not be the prettiest dish you’ll ever eat, but it’s definitely tasty! Best of all, it will get you out of a bind the next time you’re on the go and need to pick something up for dinner!
